The Ocular Plastic & Orbital Diseases Department was founded in 2004.
Faculty experts and team
Academic leader Sun Fengyuan is doctoral tutor, professor, chief physician, the government post expert of the state council, the Chinese academy of ophthalmology, eye plastic, orbital epidemiology group deputy head, ultrasonic medical committee, director of the academy of ophthalmology in China, the endoscopic professional committee of the standing committee, director of the institute of asia-pacific eye socket/ eye plastic, director of the European and American Alumni Association of Overseas Students, visiting professor of the University of Amsterdam Eye Bank, National Natural Science Foundation evaluation expert, editor at Chinese Ophthalmology and more than 10 magazines, a Tianjin Health System Cross-century talent, expert in eyelid disease, senior expert in Tianjin, deputy chairman of the Tianjin Ophthalmology Society, deputy director of the Jiusan Society, and deputy chairman of the Tianjin Municipal Committee. He was a member of the 11th and 12th national committees of the CPPCC and a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress. The department has 10 doctors, including 3 chief physicians, 5 deputy chief physicians, 2 attending physicians, 2 doctoral supervisors, and 3 master’s supervisors.
Clinical work and scientific research
Under the guidance of professor Song Guoxiang, the founder of orbital disease in China, a variety of diagnostic criteria for orbital diseases were developed, which significantly improved the diagnosis rate of eye tumors in qualitative and locational terms, clarified the relationship between tumors and important structures of the eye, and improved the traditional diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
Orbital surgery has been carried out in all kinds of treatment programs and levels among the leading positions and has rich experience in treatment in the following areas: a variety of complex orbital blowout fractures, orbital vascular tumor and vascular malformations, orbital tumors, orbital muscle origin for the source of fibrous tissue and adipose tissue tumors, orbital tumors of bone and cartilage source, orbital neurogenic tumor, lacrimal apparatus tumors, orbital cyst, lymphoid tissue hyperplasia and involvement of the hematopoietic system tumor, adjacent tissue secondary orbital tumor and orbital metastatic carcinoma, and innovation in non-surgical treatment. In terms of applied basic research, the department has carried out studies on the pathogenesis of thyroid-related eye diseases and malignant tumors, and the results have been identified.
The doctors of the department have been to Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital for professional training and received the latest plastic surgery training, which has greatly improved the medical level of the department. For patients with intraocular tumor or orbital malignant lesions with eyeball removal, hydroxyapatite is implanted. Medpor implants with the appropriate artificial eye film can not only recover the appearance of patients, but also improves eye activity, greatly improving the patient's quality of life.
Teaching and teaching situation. For many years, the department has been responsible for state-level continuing education, training of doctors for doctor and master's degrees, and training of doctors for further study. In the most recent 14 years of development, it has held several national orbital and imaging training classes and cultivated a group of excellent orbital physicians, some of whom have become local leaders in this field.
