Over the past three decades, we received oversea fellows for subspecialty training in various departments.

Mau Imo
Samoa
Dr. Mau Imo was the first foreign ophthalmologist to take on a 10-month attachment involving in the technique of microsurgery and implant surgery in TMUEH. She became one of only two eye doctors in Samoa after she completed her study in TMUEH and returned her country at that time.

Ethiopia
Dr. Tilahum Kiros Meshesha obtained his Master Dgree through his three-year's study taught by Prof. Li Xiao-Rong in TMUEH

Syed Wajahat Hassan
Pakistan
Dr. Hassan did a one year attachment involved in cataract and refractive surgery in TMUEH with the guidance of Prof. Zhao Shao-Zhen.

Singapore
Dr. Claudin Pang was an ophthalmolgy trainee from Singapore and she came to TMUEH for a vitreoretinal surgical training with Prof. Li Xiao-Rong for the period of 16 Nov. to 28 Nov. 2009.

Al-Wesabi Sameer
Yemen
Dr. Al-Wesabi Sameer, who can speak very fluently Chinese, obtained his Master Degree under the supervision of Prof. Zhao Shao-Zhen during his three-year study in TMUEH after he had completed five-year undergraduate programme on clinical medicine in Tianjin Medical University from 2004-2009.

Dr. Irina Sim is a Pediatric orthoptist and works in the Children's Hospital at Westmead. Her 7-day training is mainly on the children amblyopia rehabilitation treatment and eye visual training.
