Prof. Xie Lixin, a famous Chinese expert in ophthalmology, the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering as well as the honorary President of the Eye institute of Shandong Province, paid a quick visit to the Tianjin Medical University Eye Institute on 23 March 2018.
Prof. Xie was warmly welcomed by Prof. Li Xiaorong, the director of the Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital & Eye Institute, Prof. Zhao Shaozhen, the deputy director of the Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital, Dr. Zhang Xiaomin, the executive deputy director of the Eye Institute and Ms. Xu Yifan, the head of the Research Service Office of the Eye Hospital.
Prof. Xie is a well-known expert with great attainments on cornea disease, cataract, glaucoma and ocular surface diseases locally and internationally. He mainly visited the eye institute located on the fifth floor of the eye hospital. Prof. Li introduced in detail the situations of the eye institute including the research direction of each laboratory, ongoing research projects and research personnel. Prof. Xie highly praised the achievements in the echelon of researchers and the construction of lab facilities in the institute.
Prof. Li expressed the hope that Tianjin Medical University Eye Institute will strengthen the cooperation the Eye institute of Shandong Province, and obtain the support and help from Prof. Xie in clinical field, scientific research and discipline construction as well.
